Walter S. Conway was born on August 20, 1945 in Ozan, Arkansas to Charlene Brown and Willie Conway.
Walter was educated in Clow, Arkansas and later joined the Army, where he fought in the Vietnam War, he retired from the Army as Staff Sgt. in 1985. He moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1973, where he worked for the Chrysler Corporation and the Detroit Water and Sewage Company. He enjoyed time with his club brothers, The Hell Lover’s, where he was known as “White Lightning”.
He is preceded in death by both parents, a daughter, stepson, Adrian; a brother and step grandson, Adrian, Jr.
He was united in holy matrimony to Myra Conway on April 12, 2003 to this union one child was born.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Myra Conway of Clow, Arkansas; two brothers, Harold Brandon of Clow, Arkansas and Christopher King of Texarkana, Arkansas; three sisters, Lillie Brandon of Detroit, Michigan, Valeria Brandon (Marion) of Flat Rock, Michigan, Stacey Murphy of Texarkana, Arkansas; children, Tamiko Conway, Sherman Conway, Dominique Conway Threaths (Kenneth), Lamar Conway; stepchildren, Stevie and Tomiko Hickman of Atlanta, GA, Kalisha and Aaron Mosby of Nashville, AR, Kannisha Vaughn of Columbus, AR; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 11am-5pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 2:30pm Saturday, December 8 at Saratoga Gymnasium, Saratoga, AR. Burial with military honors will take place 1pm Monday, December 10 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, AR. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
