Hunting Knife Course at James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades/photos by Paul Oller

The James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades held a hunting knife course this past weekend in Historic Washington.  Those attending learned how to forge a basic blade, assembling the handle with the “tang” technique, hunting knife designs and proportions, steel types, heat treating, and sharpening techniques.  Ricardo Vilar was the instructor.  For information about future programs, phone 870-722-8568 or email bladesmith@uaht.edu.
